# First Install

Guide on how to set up AdvancedCosmetics for the first time!

### Step 1 - Installing the plugin <a href="#step-1-installing-the-plugin" id="step-1-installing-the-plugin"></a>

Stop your server.

Make sure your server version is supported. We recommend using **PaperMC** due to their enhanced performance and optimizations.

Place the **AdvancedCosmetics.jar** plugin file into your `server/plugins/` folder.

Start your server.

### Step 2 - Start your server

That's it! AdvancedCosmetics is now installed and available on your server.&#x20;

To access the cosmetics menu, run /cosmetics
